Hot and Humid Summers

The summers in the Carolinas are infamous for how thick and hot they are.  People want to enjoy easy summers, but it can be hard when the weather is thick like this.

A Guide to Becoming a Better Landlord: What You Need to Know

To work around the thick heat, many southerners become morning people in the summer, which gives them a chance to take in all of the beauty of summer before the heat and moisture make it uncomfortable to be outside on the hottest days of the year.  Combat this heat by staying hydrated.

Fantastic Variances in Land

The best thing about living in North or South Carolina is that they aren’t completely one type of land.  In either state, you can live anywhere from oceanside, to plains, to mountains.  This huge variety of terrain allows you to take in the best views and enjoy living wherever you want to while still getting to live within the Carolinas.

This also means you have a large variance of winter weather.  Even though most summers are very warm and humid, the winters can change based on your location.  For instance, Boone, North Carolina, gets a couple of feet of snow every year, while Jacksonville, North Carolina, is lucky if it gets a flurry of snow once every other year.

The Best Food You’ll Ever Try.

The American south has so much good food that anyone who moves here puts on a couple of pounds if they’re not careful.  It’s worth it, though!

The Carolinas are known for their distinct barbecue styles, incredible fried and grilled seafood, and delicious treats like hushpuppies and honey cornbread. So when you arrive in these states, don’t be shy about trying new things, or you’ll miss out!

Hurricane Seasons Can Get Hairy

Although the Carolinas don’t get as hard hit as Florida or Louisiana, hurricane season in these states can be a lot to take on.  Every few years, these states get hit hard by massive storms of water and wind, leading to flooding and problems.  If you’re considering moving, don’t let this scare you away!

To protect yourself, plan while you move.  Look for Charlotte houses for sale with no flooding history, and seek out areas on higher ground to keep yourself safe.  You can still enjoy a gorgeous slice of paradise while keeping yourself safe.

A Deep and Interesting History

The Carolinas are a couple of the oldest parts of the country: so it makes sense that they store a lot of history within them.  Although much of the record is thick with sadness and problems that have had to be worked past, no area on Earth hasn’t had trials and tribulations.

Learning about the history here, you must understand that the people and location have changed in large amounts in the last couple of hundred years, so you’re not looking at those who first settled the land. Instead, get to know the history for what it is, and think about how far this area has grown.
