A Guide to Becoming a Better Landlord: What You Need to Know

Also, you can read my blog, which is an ultimate guide for packing your kitchen:

1.   Clear Up & Pare Down

We tend to accumulate kitchen utensils, many of which are no longer needed.

Moving declutters your kitchen of all the unnecessary stuff that you haven’t used more than once or twice in years. Just keep in mind, the fewer things you pack, the smooth the entire moving experience will be.

Carefully go through the drawers, cabinetry, and pantry area to eliminate stuff you don’t need in your new home.

Clean everything as you don’t want to use old kitchen utensils and appliances in your new home.

2.   Collect Packing Supplies

For transporting fragile items of the kitchen, you need sturdy packaging boxes, bubble wraps, markers or labels & tapes.

Pack your cooking appliances separately using proper packaging paper and other supplies.

Make sure you keep the user’s manual of the gadget in each box.  You would be needing them while reinstalling them in your new kitchen. Visit the professional removalists in Canberra for hiring a trained team for packing your kitchen like the way you want.

Consider purchasing high-quality, robust packing supplies designed for plates, glassware & stemware. The plastic cling clips help ensure the safety of your gadgets.

3.   Dish Sets

We all know how dishes are prone to damages if your car or moving truck bumped a lot.  If you’ve regular packaging boxes, then you must add strength to the bottom and a couple of layers of bubble wraps.

Dish Sets packed

You must pack all the dishes individually. When loading all the kitchen appliances in the vehicle, you must add three thin layers of cardboard between the dishes for creating a buffer. Also, fill all the extra space with the remaining packing materials.

For bowls, make sure they are stacked upright. Wrap each bowl in a plastic cell box.

4.   Glasses & Stemware

The best way to safely pack all your expensive glasses and stemware is with the use of the cell-designed boxes. Either your moving company will have these or you can buy them for a nominal fee. If you don’t have cell boxes; then, padding is the best alternative.

Ensure that no two glasses are touching one another during the transit. Also, write the word “FRAGILE” on such boxes so that your moving company knows what to handle with care.

5.   Sharp Knives

How to pack your sharp knives? If you don’t have the original boxes for each knife, then pack them individually using the packing paper, and then wrap in a towel or dishcloth.

Wrap a rubber round the knives and then place them in the box. The knives must be packed lying down, not with sharp blades pointing upward.

Final Words

The process of packing and moving kitchen items seems complicated. But, if you hire a credible moving company, you can breathe a sigh of relief. They’ll take care of everything, right from packing your stuff to loading and then unloading.
