Different options for packing unusually shaped products

The good news is that when you need to send an unusually shaped product to a certain location, there are different packaging options available.  You just need to know what option will be best for the product you are sending. There is the normal cardboard or even a wooden box that you can use for shipments.

You will need to consider the weight, the size, and if the package is fragile before you can choose the type of packaging. Before you can choose the cheapest option, you need to consider the risk of damage during transport.

Shipping box

The shipping box is the most common and practical way to ship unusually shaped products. This is the choice of package for most companies like Removalists in Port Hedland. Before you decide that this is the option for your package as well, you need to know the different types of shipping boxes that you can choose from. To make sure that you are choosing the right box for the right item. These are some of the types of shipping boxes you can choose for shipping your product.

  • Cardboard or a wooden box
  • Crates for larger items. You can get the crates in plastic, wood, and padded
  • For added protection against damage, you can use the multi-layered cardboard

You also need to make sure about the weight of the product, before you just choose any cheap shipping box for packaging.

Have you considered making your own branded packaging? Here you may get many types of boxes for shipment.

Making use of fillers or wraps

Even when you are using the best shipping box for your product, it still might get damaged during transport. Especially if there are spaces between your product and the shipping box. The question that you might have right now is what can you do to protect your unusual shaped item in a normally shaped box.

You can make use of fillers or wraps. When you are stuffing the open spaces between the product and the box with fillers or wraps, you will be able to protect your product from getting damaged. The more wraps you are using, the better it will be for your product. Spending time choosing the right filler or wraps for your product will ensure that the product arrives undamaged.

Seal tightly ensures protection

This may sound obvious, to seal the shipping box correctly. However, some people only close the box and do not consider sealing it tightly. The moment that you don’t seal the shipping box tightly, it will compromise on the protection you need to give your product.

The way you need to seal the box will depend on the type of box you choose for your shipment. You should not compromise on the way you seal your shipping box. Even if this means that you need to spend more money on the shipment.

Many consider waterproofing

It can cost a lot more when you are waterproofing the shipment from any water damage. If your product is sensitive to water and can get damaged when it’s getting into contact with water, this is essential to do.

There are many different ways of waterproofing your shipment. Normally, you can just change the type of shipping box you have used to one that can’t get any water damage. Like a plastic box before you put it into a wooden box. This will ensure a total waterproofing system.

Heavy items might require a pallet

When the shipment is large and heavy, it won’t be able to be lifted by a human. Then they will use special equipment to lift the shipping box. This is where you might require to have a pallet as well.

This is the best way to ensure that your shipment isn’t going to be too heavy for a person to lift, and it will not get damaged if it falls. A pallet is making lifting a heavy object just so much easier. The best part is that these pallets aren’t expensive. It will be worth buying the pallet instead of replacing the damaged products.

When you are shipping an unusual shape product, you might be wondering how you are going to pack it to keep the product safe during transport. Our guide will make it easier to pack and ship these unusual shaped products. Without a guide, you will not end up with a package that was damaged and that needs to be replaced.
