The brush to clean solar panels, the main accessory of the solar PV cleaning robot, is widely used in large photovoltaic power plants. Due to the long-term use of large-area PV solar panels, dust and debris on the surface will affect the energy absorption by the PV panels, requiring frequent cleaning and maintenance to ensure energy conversion. Using industrial robots with solar panel cleaning brushes can improve cleaning efficiency and quality.

The solar panel cleaning brush applies to all kinds of photovoltaic panel cleaning robots worldwide and can also be customized according to customer requirements. In addition, we will recommend the appropriate solar panel cleaning brush suitable for photovoltaic plants in different environments.

Solar panel maintenance – proper maintenance of solar panels:

The use of solar panels is not yet widespread. As of mid-2015, only two solar power plants are operating in our country, but since 2016 there have been plans to significantly increase the number of solar panels produced so that by 2050 almost all nuclear and coal-fired power plants will have been replaced by solar. Large organizations and individuals are now interested in solar energy, and accordingly, offers for selling solar panels in the market are increasing.

Dirty vs Clean Solar Panel – Power Output Comparison and HowTo

Buying such equipment, you must remember that for it to work properly, you need to perform maintenance of solar panels in summer and winter: in summer – to clean the batteries from bird droppings, dust, and dirt, and in winter – from the snow. The difficulty of maintenance is that solar panels are usually installed high on the roofs of businesses or private homes, and performing high-altitude cleaning without special equipment can be dangerous for any untrained person.

There are two solutions to this problem. First, contact high-altitude cleaning professionals with all the necessary equipment and skills. The second is to clean solar panels from the ground by yourself using special equipment with a water supply that can work at heights up to 20 meters. This equipment’s investment will pay off fairly quickly, especially with many solar panels available.

Equipment for washing solar panels:

In Germany and other European countries, the problem of saving electricity is very acute, so solar panels have long been used everywhere. German equipment Unger, designed for high-rise washing of facades, can easily cope with the maintenance of solar panels. The Unger range has special brushes, booms, and slides – all the necessary equipment for washing solar panels:

  • Master Pole and Extension Pole telescopic water supply rods;
  • Solar panel brushes 27, 40, and 60 cm long;
  • Deionization filters for water treatment with deionization or reverse osmosis system;
  • Adapters, handles, clamps, extensions, tips;
  • Unger belt systems and clothes for high-altitude washing;
  • Complete sets of equipment.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS FOR SOLAR PANELS FROM THE WORLD’S LEADING MANUFACTURERS:

Over time, dirt and dust that accumulate on the glass surface of solar panels can cause a decrease in their power output. Manufacturers recommend periodic cleaning of the modules to ensure maximum output, especially if the solar panels are installed in areas of high atmospheric pollution (near highways, industrial plants, etc.).

Before you start cleaning the modules, you must check:

Whether there are no service messages from the solar power plant monitoring system (if any) about module failure or diagnosis of electrical current leakage by the system;

Condition of the outer and inner surfaces of the solar panel – to exclude places of potential leakage of electric current (to ensure personal safety). General Description:

Rotating Brush Cleaning Tool 32in

Condition of the outer and inner surfaces of the solar panel – to exclude places of potential leakage of electric current (to ensure personal safety). General Description:

  • Do not touch or handle the glass surface of the modules with bare hands. Use clean gloves when cleaning to avoid the reflection of fingers and other contaminants on the glass.

  • Do not use metal tools such as knives, metal scrapers, sandpaper, or other abrasive materials.

  • A variety of soft non-woven cloths, soft sponges, non-rigid pile brushes, and the like may be used.

  • The blue hard surface sponge can only be used to clean the aluminum frame of the module. If you use it to clean the glass side, it can make the glass frosted and reduce the output of the module. Scrubbers with a special rubber working surface for glass cleaning can be used to clean the glass surface of the solar panel.

  • The requirements of the leading manufacturers of solar panels for sponges (sponges) are as follows: sponge material – nylon, fiber diameter – 0.1-0.06 mm.

  • Various industrial glass cleaners with neutral pH value (value 7) can be used for cleaning – alcohol/ethanol/methanol.

  • To avoid the formation of micro-cracks in the structure of solar “mudflows”, it is necessary to control the water flow pressure if high-pressure cleaners are used. High-pressure water washing of such solar panel components is prohibited:
  1. Junction boxes;
  2. Cable trays;
  3. Combiner boxes.

Using water with high mineral content is not recommended, as minerals are deposited on the surface of the glass when it dries. As a rule, water from the centralized water supply network meets the above requirements.

  • Do not use steam-activated equipment or chemicals that may corrode the metal to speed up the cleaning process. Do not attempt to clean the photo module if visual damage to the cable or cracks in the glass is detected, which may pose a risk of electric shock.

  • Follow the safety rules for working at height when cleaning. Be sure to use a safety harness.

  • During cleaning, do not step on the photo modules, external aluminum housing (frame), or junction boxes.

  • It is recommended that professional installers clean and maintain solar power plants to minimize the possibility of damage to the solar photo modules.

Peculiarities in cleaning the solar power plant:

It is necessary to clean the surface of the solar power plant in the morning or evening when it is not heated. During the day, the temperature can reach 70C0. Under these conditions, the water will dry out instantly, leaving a dilution. Disconnect the panel from the power supply before working.
