Home-cooked meals are far more nutritious and healthy than anything found in a restaurant or on the street, but not everyone is capable of preparing meals for themselves or their families. One of the biggest reasons for this is being busy with work.

Don’t let your busy schedule get in the way of your health; instead, use these 7 simple ideas to make your kitchen duties more efficient. These useful tips can help you complete more tasks in less time and efficiently balance work and culinary chores.

Make Use Of Technology

Instead of conducting your kitchen tasks the old-fashioned way, invest in some technology in the shape of electric equipment.

Hand squeezers for lemonade and orange juice were all the rage in the previous century. Now is the moment to get high-powered blenders into your kitchen and create juice in a matter of seconds. No matter how late or busy you are, you won’t be leaving for the office without a glass of juice in the morning if you have fast and efficient blenders..

When you replace an old and worn-out appliance with a new and faster one, whether you’re cooking for yourself or for a family gathering, you’ll save a lot of time and be more efficient.

So spending money on kitchen appliances is an investment that bears fruit by saving your precious time and making you quick in completing the chores.

Make Labels

Kitchen item labeling appears to be a time-consuming task, but it is far more worthwhile than you might imagine. Label everything from spice bottles to leftovers and cabinets with tape or stickers.

You don’t go around opening every bottle or jar looking for sesame seeds to decorate your dish if it’s clearly stated. It may seem inconvenient, but the time you spend writing the labels will be repaid by the time you save by not having to open and close several jars or bottles.

The leftovers should be labeled to keep your fridge orderly. You can tell that the pink package contains broth and the red box has frozen fries just by looking at them. It will keep the refrigerator from becoming cluttered and will make things easier for you.

Write the date on your frozen foods, so you’ll know how long they’ll last before they expire, and you won’t have to waste food that’s gone bad. A great money-saving tip for the kitchen.

The most often used items in the kitchen are the refrigerator, sink, and stove/oven. These three create a triangle, and the area surrounding them must be kept clear.

The three sides of the triangle in an ideal kitchen should be close to each other so that you don’t have to run from one corner to the other and waste time.

Access to these three often used things should be simple and free of obstacles; for example, your kitchen table should not be located between the stove and the refrigerator, as this would slow down your work. This may appear to be a minor enhancement, but it makes a significant difference in the kitchen.

Do The Dishes On The Go

Waiting for the dishes to pile up in the sink before cleaning them all at once is a bad strategy for one of the most time-consuming tasks.

You must exercise caution and choose a method of dishwashing that is both efficient and effective. Instead of waiting until the next day to clean them, you must do so now. If you’re waiting for the rice to cook, for example, you can wash old dishes while you wait.

Rather than washing your dishes twice or three times to get them clean, use food-grade silicone dishwashing gloves to wash your glassware and stainless steel utensils all at one. It will save you time and make you more efficient when it comes to doing culinary duties.

Keep The Kitchen Organized

A well-organized kitchen is necessary for transforming time-consuming cooking tasks into easy ones. Knives, spices, and cutting boards should all be kept close to you and in easy reach. It will save you time by eliminating the need to aimlessly search all of the cabinets for a knife.

In order to be more organized, you should divide your kitchen into zones. If you prepare a variety of meals on a daily basis, such as baked goods, fast food, or anything else, establishing zones in the kitchen can help you become more efficient.

Keep the ingredients and utensils in their designated areas, so they don’t get in the way when you’re not using them.

Make A Detailed Weekly Schedule

This one key tip can save you endless hours in the kitchen.

All you have to do is plan out your meals for the entire week. Once you’ve got your weekly plan in hand, you’ll need to go grocery shopping. It will ensure that you do not run out of ingredients as soon as you begin preparing the dish.

You won’t have to ponder about what to make for hours if you have a comprehensive schedule. It is not intended to restrict your taste buds or place them on a predetermined meal schedule but rather to relieve you of the stressof deciding what to eat every day.

Eliminate Any Distractions

Distractions can reduce your productivity in any line of work, and this is true in the kitchen as well.

Open kitchens are becoming increasingly popular among the general public. While it’s a great way to stay in touch with relatives, it can also be a source of distraction. These are not the only ones but talking on the phone is as well and it will dramatically reduce your productivity.

Remove such distractions, and you’ll be done cooking in no time.

Bottom Line

Kitchen chores can be fun and simple if you adopt certain time-saving and efficient habits. Some worth-mentioning steps include keeping the kitchen organized, labeling everything that is widely used, making a schedule, eliminating distractions and cleaning the dishes on the go.

These tasks might seem unimportant, but the results are much more appreciatable.
